Device Compatibility

Check if Your Device Supports eSIM

Before you purchase or activate an OWNES7 eSIM, it’s important to make sure your device supports eSIM technology and is unlocked.
An unlocked device means it’s not restricted to any specific carrier — allowing you to install and use eSIM profiles from global providers like OWNES7.

1. What Is an eSIM-Compatible Device?

An eSIM-compatible device has an embedded SIM chip built inside it.
This chip can store multiple carrier profiles digitally — letting you switch between mobile networks without inserting or removing physical SIM cards.

If your device supports eSIM, you can scan a QR code (provided after purchase) and activate your data plan instantly — no waiting, no shipping, and no local SIM store needed.

3. How to Check if Your Device Supports eSIM

Here’s how to find out if your phone supports eSIM:

For iPhone:

  1. Go to SettingsGeneralAbout

  2. Scroll down and look for “Digital SIM” or “eSIM IMEI”

    • If you see it, your device supports eSIM.

For Android (Samsung/Google):

  1. Go to SettingsConnectionsSIM Manager or Mobile Network

  2. Look for an option to “Add mobile plan” or “Add eSIM”

    • If you see that option, your device supports eSIM.

4. Make Sure Your Phone Is Unlocked

If your phone is locked to a carrier, it may reject third-party eSIMs.
To check this:

  • On iPhone → Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock

    • If it says “No SIM restrictions”, your phone is unlocked.

  • On Android → Contact your carrier or check under Network settings → SIM status.

If your phone is locked, you’ll need to contact your carrier to unlock it before using an OWNES7 eSIM.
